Salt of the Earth Cafe and Gallery is located in heritage listed buildings in the historic centre of Port Wakefield, only a one hour drive north of Adelaide.
We offer visitors a total experience as a tourist attraction with our cafe (in the former town hall) offering great organic coffee, homemade cakes and biscuits and great country cooking. We also cater for gluten intolerance. The cafe also has many gifts, local arts and crafts with plenty to look at. There is also an information corner and kids areas. We often have entertainers, workshops and events. High Teas are our specialty and we also welcome bus groups, large catering and functions.
Our gallery (in a former church) is a 'must see' featuring an exquisite display of porcelain figurines across the altar depicting a Viennese ballroom scene. There is always an Artist in Residence working in the gallery on Saturdays and Sundays. Our garden is very pleasant and welcoming with seating amongst original olive and pepper trees.
